I picked up Ultraviolet (1999) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Violet with Japanese Osmanthus comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Japanese Osmanthus feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

My first Rabanne experience was this one, Ultraviolet (1999). The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Japanese Osmanthus feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Japanese Osmanthus, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I’ve been wearing Ultraviolet on and off for a few weeks now (1999). The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Japanese Osmanthus feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely Pepper/Orange Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather β€” in the heat it opens up nicely. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

For a 1999 release, Ultraviolet deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Violet with Japanese Osmanthus comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I’ve been wearing Ultraviolet on and off for a few weeks now (1999). The first minutes are all about Pepper with a hint of Orange Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Pepper and Orange Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

My first Rabanne experience was this one, Ultraviolet (1999). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Japanese Osmanthus, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Pepper with Orange Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A couple of wears in, Ultraviolet has really grown on me. The base rests on Vanilla and Amber β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Pepper and Orange Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Rabanne knows how to compose, and Ultraviolet (1999) is proof. The opening is built around Pepper and Orange Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Pepper with a hint of Orange Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Everyone keeps talking about Ultraviolet, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Vanilla and Amber come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Pepper with Orange Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
