   I keep reaching for Obsidian more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Iris with Citrus peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Sandalwood and Ambrette — warm, grounded and easy to live with. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Everyone keeps talking about Obsidian, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Iris with Citrus peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Leather, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Rayhaan knows how to compose, and Obsidian is proof. Give it a little time and Leather comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Leather, which is where the fragrance really shines. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I have owned Obsidian for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Sandalwood and Ambrette come through and give it real depth. The first minutes are all about Iris with a hint of Citrus — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
