   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Fleur de Figuier. Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Fig with Fig Leaf, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I picked up Fleur de Figuier (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Fig Nectar and Musk come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Fig and Fig Leaf feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A decant of Fleur de Figuier sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Mandarin Orange/Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Everyone keeps talking about Fleur de Figuier, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Fig Nectar plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Fig Nectar and Musk come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. The composition is well made but not for me.
