   A decant of Chypre-Siam sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Kaffir lime and Basil — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Kaffir lime alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Chypre-Siam after reading the community buzz (2017). The base rests on Oakmoss and Civet — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Oakmoss and Civet come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. The composition is well made but not for me.

   For a 2017 release, Chypre-Siam deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Kaffir lime and Basil — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Chypre-Siam for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Civet and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A couple of wears in, Chypre-Siam has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Ylang-Ylang comes forward — smooth and well done. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
