   A couple of wears in, Amber Aoud has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Fig feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Agarwood (Oud) and Ambergris come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Amber Aoud (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Fig, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Amber Aoud on and off for a few weeks now (2012). Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Lemon, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Bergamot and Lemon — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Lemon — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The drydown leans on Agarwood (Oud) plus Ambergris and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
