   My first Roja Dove experience was this one, Oligarch (2016). As it settles, Juniper berry and Birch come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Oligarch (2016) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Lemon and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I picked up Oligarch (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Juniper berry and Birch — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Black Currant with Apple, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I’ve been wearing Oligarch on and off for a few weeks now (2016). The very first sniff is crisp Lemon with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Black Currant with Apple comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   For a 2016 release, Oligarch deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Juniper berry and Birch come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

As it settles, Juniper berry and Birch come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
