   Everyone keeps talking about Eau Tropicale, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Passionfruit with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Passionfruit and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I have owned Eau Tropicale for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Turkish Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Passionfruit alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   For a 2014 release, Eau Tropicale deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Passionfruit/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Turkish Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The drydown leans on Ambrette (Musk Mallow) plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Eau Tropicale. The drydown leans on Ambrette (Musk Mallow) plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Passionfruit with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Give it a little time and Violet with Turkish Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
