   I have owned Stella (2014) for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Amber and Woodsy Notes — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Rose and Peony — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. The composition is well made but not for me.

   My first Stella McCartney experience was this one, Stella (2014) (2014). Give it a little time and Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2014 release, Stella (2014) deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Amber plus Woodsy Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   A couple of wears in, Stella (2014) has really grown on me. As it settles, Amber and Woodsy Notes come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Amber plus Woodsy Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Stella (2014) (2014) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Rose/Peony impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
