   I’ve been wearing White Musk on and off for a few weeks now (2004). The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of White Flowers — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Aldehydes and White Flowers — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. The composition is well made but not for me.

   For a 2004 release, White Musk deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on White Musk plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Powdery Notes and Rose Petals feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of White Flowers — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A friend passed me a decant of White Musk (2004) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Powdery Notes with Rose Petals, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Powdery Notes and Rose Petals feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
