   I’ve been wearing Cherry Smoke on and off for a few weeks now (2022). The very first sniff is crisp Sour Cherry with Saffron peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Smoke and Woody Notes come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Cherry Smoke. That first spray gives a lovely Sour Cherry/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Leather with Chinese Osmanthus comes forward — smooth and well done. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I picked up Cherry Smoke (2022) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Sour Cherry with Saffron peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Smoke and Woody Notes come through and give it real depth. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I have owned Cherry Smoke for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Sour Cherry and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Sour Cherry alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The drydown leans on Smoke plus Woody Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Leather with Chinese Osmanthus, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
