   For a 2012 release, Noir deserves more attention than it gets. The very first sniff is crisp Violet with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Tuscan Iris and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   Tom Ford knows how to compose, and Noir (2012) is proof. The heart is the best part for me: Tuscan Iris and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Violet with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   A decant of Noir sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Violet with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Violet and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

Give it a little time and Tuscan Iris with Bulgarian Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Noir. The heart is the best part for me: Tuscan Iris and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Indonesian Patchouli Leaf and Amber come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The base rests on Indonesian Patchouli Leaf and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The very first sniff is crisp Violet with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

    A couple of wears in, Noir has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuscan Iris with Bulgarian Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Tuscan Iris with Bulgarian Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
