   My first Tous experience was this one, Gold (2002). The opening is built around Brazilian Rosewood and Red currant leaf — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on White Musk plus Iris and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Tous experience was this one, Gold (2002). The opening is built around Brazilian Rosewood and Red currant leaf — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Brazilian Rosewood with a hint of Red currant leaf — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I keep reaching for Gold more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Brazilian Rosewood with Red currant leaf peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Brazilian Rosewood alongside Red currant leaf, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I have owned Gold for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on White Musk and Iris — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, White Musk and Iris come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
