   I have owned V Absolu for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Rose with Heliotrope comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Fig/Vodka impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   For a 2005 release, V Absolu deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Fig with a hint of Vodka — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Fig with Vodka peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about V Absolu. The opening is built around Fig and Vodka — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Fig/Vodka impression that dries down smoothly. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up V Absolu (2005) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on Bourbon Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Fig alongside Vodka, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The opening is built around Fig and Vodka — bright and immediately recognizable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of V Absolu (2005) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Heliotrope feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Bourbon Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
