   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ambre Impérial. The base rests on Woodsy Notes — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The first minutes are all about Pink Pepper with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   A decant of Ambre Impérial sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Amber with Vanilla, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Ambre Impérial for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Pink Pepper alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Amber with Vanilla, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Give it a little time and Amber with Vanilla comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
