   I have owned Midnight in Paris for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. That first spray gives a lovely Leather/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Leather with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A decant of Midnight in Paris sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Right away I get mostly Leather alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Leather with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A couple of wears in, Midnight in Paris has really grown on me. The base rests on Tonka Bean and Incense — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Tea and Styrax feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Midnight in Paris (2010) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Tea and Styrax feel carefully balanced. Right away I get mostly Leather alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Van Cleef & Arpels knows how to compose, and Midnight in Paris (2010) is proof. The drydown leans on Tonka Bean plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Tea and Styrax feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

As it settles, Tonka Bean and Incense come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The heart is the best part for me: Tea and Styrax feel carefully balanced. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

    A couple of wears in, Midnight in Paris has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tea with Styrax, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Leather with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
