   My first Van Cleef & Arpels experience was this one, Néroli Amara (2018). The base rests on Neroli and White Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Orange Blossom and Cypress feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Van Cleef & Arpels knows how to compose, and Néroli Amara (2018) is proof. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orange Blossom with Cypress, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Orange Blossom and Cypress feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2018 release, Néroli Amara deserves more attention than it gets. The opening is built around Bergamot and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I have owned Néroli Amara for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Neroli plus White Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Neroli and White Musk come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The opening is built around Bergamot and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
