   Picked up a sample of Vanitas after reading the community buzz (2011). The drydown leans on Virginia Cedar plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Lime impression that dries down smoothly. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2011 release, Vanitas deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tiare Flower with Freesia, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Lime impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Vanitas for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Virginia Cedar and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Lime — bright and immediately recognizable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   Versace knows how to compose, and Vanitas (2011) is proof. The drydown leans on Virginia Cedar plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Lime, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
