   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ming Shu. The base rests on Musk and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Water Lily with Lotus, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Ming Shu, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Water Lily with Lotus comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Water Lily and Lotus feel carefully balanced. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Yves Rocher experience was this one, Ming Shu (1990). The very first sniff is crisp Sea Notes with Peach peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Sea Notes with a hint of Peach — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The opening is built around Sea Notes and Peach — bright and immediately recognizable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
