   I keep reaching for Caban more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly elemi alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Olibanum with Osmanthus, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Caban on and off for a few weeks now (2015). The heart is the best part for me: Olibanum and Osmanthus feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Tonka Bean and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   For a 2015 release, Caban deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Give it a little time and Olibanum with Osmanthus comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I would happily buy a full bottle.
