   I picked up M7 (2002) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on Amber plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Amber and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of M7 (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Agarwood (Oud) with Vetiver, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Agarwood (Oud) with Vetiver comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, M7 has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Rosemary with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Amber plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The very first sniff is crisp Rosemary with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
