   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Nu. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Sandalwood and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I keep reaching for Nu more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Cardamom with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The opening is built around Cardamom and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2001 release, Nu deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
