   A friend passed me a decant of Elephant (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Coconut Milk with Cacao Pod, which is where the fragrance really shines. The first minutes are all about Green Leaves with a hint of Darjeeling tea — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   A decant of Elephant sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Green Leaves/Darjeeling tea impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Green Leaves alongside Darjeeling tea, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Zoologist Perfumes knows how to compose, and Elephant (2017) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Green Leaves with Darjeeling tea peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Coconut Milk with Cacao Pod, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

Right away I get mostly Green Leaves alongside Darjeeling tea, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I wanted to like it more than I did.
