ParfumeLore is a community-driven perfume encyclopedia and forum. Our website address is https://parfumelore.com and you can contact us at support@parfumelore.com.

Information we collect

Accounts and profiles

When you register we store the username, email address and profile details you provide (such as a display name and optional biography). Your display name and public activity, including reviews, forum posts, comments and photos, are visible to other visitors.

Community content

When you write a review, post in the forum, upload a Fragram photo, vote on a fragrance or send a private note, we store that content together with your account and the time it was created. Your private notes and shelves marked private are only visible to you.

Technical data

When you visit the site we may process your IP address, browser type, referring pages and pages visited. We use this data to operate the site, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse. WordPress and our server software may also set cookies for logins, preferences and security (for example the login cookie, dark-mode preference and nonce protection).

Images

Uploaded photos may include embedded location data (EXIF). Please remove location data before uploading if you do not want it to be publicly available.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as the chart or colour theme, and protect forms from abuse. Some outbound retailer links are affiliate links, and the retailer or its affiliate network may set its own cookies so that a purchase can be attributed to your click; those cookies are controlled by the retailer, not by us. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies, and if we add analytics or advertising in the future we will update this policy before doing so. Non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising and affiliate measurement) are only set if you allow them, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the Privacy Manager link in the footer. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to provide the encyclopedia and community features, display content you create, moderate abuse, answer support requests, and improve the site. We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal data. Content you publish publicly (reviews, forum posts, comments, photos) is displayed to all visitors and may appear in public feeds. Emails are used only for account notifications and password resets. If a spam-filtering or analytics service is added later, its privacy policy will be linked from this page.

How long we keep your data

Account profiles and content you publish are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal information where technically possible, while retaining records required for security, legal or operational reasons. Server and security logs are retained on a rolling basis.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most profile information yourself from your profile page, or write to support@parfumelore.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
