   My first Agent Provocateur experience was this one, Fatale (2014). The heart is the best part for me: Patchouli and Gardenia feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Patchouli with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I picked up Fatale (2014) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Black Currant alongside Mango, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Black Currant with a hint of Mango — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I have owned Fatale for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. That first spray gives a lovely Black Currant/Mango impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

The very first sniff is crisp Black Currant with Mango peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Fatale. As it settles, Chocolate and Vanilla Orchid come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Agent Provocateur knows how to compose, and Fatale (2014) is proof. The base rests on Chocolate and Vanilla Orchid — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Black Currant with Mango peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
