   A decant of Zafeer Oud Vanille sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. As it settles, Vanilla and Agarwood (Oud) come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Coconut and Toffee — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   For a 2012 release, Zafeer Oud Vanille deserves more attention than it gets. The very first sniff is crisp Coconut with Toffee peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Coconut/Toffee impression that dries down smoothly. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Zafeer Oud Vanille, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tonka Bean with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Tonka Bean and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Alexandre.J experience was this one, Zafeer Oud Vanille (2012). The opening is built around Coconut and Toffee — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Vanilla and Agarwood (Oud) — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. The composition is well made but not for me.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Zafeer Oud Vanille. The opening is built around Coconut and Toffee — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Coconut with Toffee peeking through, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I keep reaching for Zafeer Oud Vanille more than I expected to. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tonka Bean with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Tonka Bean with Ylang-Ylang comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
