   Picked up a sample of Honour Man after reading the community buzz (2011). The base rests on Incense and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Geranium with elemi, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Amouage knows how to compose, and Honour Man (2011) is proof. The base rests on Incense and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Geranium with elemi comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   A friend passed me a decant of Honour Man (2011) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Pepper/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Geranium and elemi feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Everyone keeps talking about Honour Man, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Pepper alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Incense and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

Right away I get mostly Pepper alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2011 release, Honour Man deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Pepper/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Pepper with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

    I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Honour Man. The opening is built around Pepper and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Pepper with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
