   Animale knows how to compose, and Animale (1987) is proof. As it settles, Oakmoss and Civet come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Coriander/Brazilian Rosewood impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Animale (1987) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Coriander with a hint of Brazilian Rosewood — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Honey and Rose feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Give it a little time and Honey with Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Animale (1987) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Oakmoss and Civet — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Oakmoss and Civet come through and give it real depth. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Civet and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

As it settles, Oakmoss and Civet come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
