   Everyone keeps talking about Trefle Pur, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Bitter Orange and Basil — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Moss and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I have owned Trefle Pur for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Clover with Tunisian Neroli, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Moss and Musk come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Trefle Pur has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Clover with Tunisian Neroli comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Moss plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Give it a little time and Clover with Tunisian Neroli comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

Right away I get mostly Bitter Orange alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Atelier Cologne knows how to compose, and Trefle Pur (2011) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Bitter Orange with Basil peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Moss and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
