   Everyone keeps talking about Contradiction, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Sandalwood and Musk come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Lily/Peony impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. The composition is well made but not for me.

   My first Calvin Klein experience was this one, Contradiction (1997). The heart is the best part for me: Eucalyptus and Lilac feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Sandalwood and Musk come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Calvin Klein knows how to compose, and Contradiction (1997) is proof. The first minutes are all about Lily with a hint of Peony — it grabs attention without being pushy. As it settles, Sandalwood and Musk come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I keep reaching for Contradiction more than I expected to. The base rests on Sandalwood and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Lily alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I have owned Contradiction for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Eucalyptus with Lilac, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Lily/Peony impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The very first sniff is crisp Lily with Peony peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
