For a 2002 release, Cabaret deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Rose/Peony impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

My first Grès experience was this one, Cabaret (2002). Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Rose with Peony peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Cabaret. The very first sniff is crisp Rose with Peony peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Rose and Peony — bright and immediately recognizable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

I have owned Cabaret for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Incense with Iris comes forward — smooth and well done. The opening is built around Rose and Peony — bright and immediately recognizable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.

For a 2002 release, Cabaret deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Incense with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Rose with Peony peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Everyone keeps talking about Cabaret, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Patchouli and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Grès knows how to compose, and Cabaret (2002) is proof. The heart is the best part for me: Incense and Iris feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Incense with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A friend passed me a decant of Cabaret (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Patchouli and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Incense and Iris feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

A friend passed me a decant of Cabaret (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Incense with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Rose and Peony — bright and immediately recognizable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

A decant of Cabaret sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable.
