   A friend passed me a decant of Obsession for Men (1986) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Amber and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Amber and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Obsession for Men (1986) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Cinnamon and Lavender — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Cinnamon with a hint of Lavender — it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   My first Calvin Klein experience was this one, Obsession for Men (1986). The very first sniff is crisp Cinnamon with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Amber and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The heart is the best part for me: Myrhh and Nutmeg feel carefully balanced. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
