I picked up Allure (1996) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather β€” in the heat it opens up nicely. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Picked up a sample of Allure after reading the community buzz (1996). The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Mandarin Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I’ve been wearing Allure on and off for a few weeks now (1996). That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Honeysuckle with Jasmine comes forward β€” smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Mandarin Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I wanted to like it more than I did.

A friend passed me a decant of Allure (1996) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Honeysuckle and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. The composition is well made but not for me.

Picked up a sample of Allure after reading the community buzz (1996). Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Honeysuckle with Jasmine comes forward β€” smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

My first Chanel experience was this one, Allure (1996). That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Mandarin Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This one gets my highest praise β€” beautiful from start to finish.

A decant of Allure sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Honeysuckle with Jasmine comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The opening is built around Lemon and Mandarin Orange β€” bright and immediately recognizable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The heart is the best part for me: Honeysuckle and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I picked up Allure (1996) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Mandarin Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Honeysuckle with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

Chanel knows how to compose, and Allure (1996) is proof. The base rests on Vanilla and Sandalwood β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
