I’ve been wearing Egoiste on and off for a few weeks now (1990). The first minutes are all about Brazilian Rosewood with a hint of Coriander — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Cinnamon with Damask Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

A decant of Egoiste sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Damask Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Brazilian Rosewood with Coriander peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Everyone keeps talking about Egoiste, so I finally gave it a proper test. The base rests on Sandalwood and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Damask Rose feel carefully balanced. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

A couple of wears in, Egoiste has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Damask Rose feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Picked up a sample of Egoiste after reading the community buzz (1990). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Damask Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Damask Rose feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I’ve been wearing Egoiste on and off for a few weeks now (1990). The opening is built around Brazilian Rosewood and Coriander — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Damask Rose feel carefully balanced. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

For a 1990 release, Egoiste deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Brazilian Rosewood with a hint of Coriander — it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

A friend passed me a decant of Egoiste (1990) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Brazilian Rosewood and Coriander — bright and immediately recognizable. I have owned Egoiste for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tobacco come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

I picked up Egoiste (1990) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Damask Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

My first Chanel experience was this one, Egoiste (1990). As it settles, Sandalwood and Tobacco come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Sandalwood and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I wanted to like it more than I did.
