   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Coach Wild Rose. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Jasmine Sambac feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Rose with Jasmine Sambac comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Coach Wild Rose (2022) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Red Currant with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Red Currant with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

As it settles, Ambroxan and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   For a 2022 release, Coach Wild Rose deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Jasmine Sambac, which is where the fragrance really shines. The first minutes are all about Red Currant with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
