   I have owned 8 88 for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Turmeric with Coriander peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Turmeric/Coriander impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   Everyone keeps talking about 8 88, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Saffron and Geranium feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Saffron with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, 8 88 has really grown on me. As it settles, Amber and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Amber plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up 8 88 (2008) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Turmeric/Coriander impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Turmeric alongside Coriander, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Comme des Garcons knows how to compose, and 8 88 (2008) is proof. The drydown leans on Amber plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Turmeric and Coriander — bright and immediately recognizable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

The first minutes are all about Turmeric with a hint of Coriander — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
