   My first Davidoff experience was this one, Hot Water (2009). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Paprika with Patchouli, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Paprika and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I’ve been wearing Hot Water on and off for a few weeks now (2009). Right away I get mostly Wormwood alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Benzoin and Styrax come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Hot Water has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Wormwood alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Paprika and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Davidoff knows how to compose, and Hot Water (2009) is proof. The drydown leans on Benzoin plus Styrax and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Paprika and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A decant of Hot Water sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The first minutes are all about Wormwood with a hint of Basil — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Wormwood alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I have owned Hot Water for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Paprika and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Benzoin and Styrax — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.
