Picked up a sample of Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete after reading the community buzz (2013). The very first sniff is crisp Sicilian Mandarin with Italian Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vanilla β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather β€” in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I keep reaching for Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete more than I expected to. Give it a little time and Jasmine Sambac with Tunisian Neroli comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The base rests on Vanilla β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

My first Dior experience was this one, Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete (2013). The opening is built around Sicilian Mandarin and Italian Orange β€” bright and immediately recognizable. Give it a little time and Jasmine Sambac with Tunisian Neroli comes forward β€” smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

A friend passed me a decant of Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Sicilian Mandarin with a hint of Italian Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

The first minutes are all about Sicilian Mandarin with a hint of Italian Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise β€” beautiful from start to finish.

I picked up Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Jasmine Sambac and Tunisian Neroli feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Sicilian Mandarin with Italian Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

A couple of wears in, Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Sicilian Mandarin alongside Italian Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Sicilian Mandarin with a hint of Italian Orange β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The heart is the best part for me: Jasmine Sambac and Tunisian Neroli feel carefully balanced. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Dior knows how to compose, and Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete (2013) is proof. Give it a little time and Jasmine Sambac with Tunisian Neroli comes forward β€” smooth and well done. As it settles, Vanilla come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

A decant of Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. As it settles, Vanilla come through and give it real depth. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

Dior knows how to compose, and Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete (2013) is proof. That first spray gives a lovely Sicilian Mandarin/Italian Orange impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

For a 2013 release, Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Sicilian Mandarin alongside Italian Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Vanilla come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
