   A couple of wears in, Pure Poison Elixir has really grown on me. The very first sniff is crisp Jasmine with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Jasmine alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A friend passed me a decant of Pure Poison Elixir (2006) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Jasmine/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Jasmine with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I picked up Pure Poison Elixir (2006) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Jasmine with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Cacao and Vanille — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Pure Poison Elixir (2006) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: African Orange Flower and Gardenia feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Cacao and Vanille — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Everyone keeps talking about Pure Poison Elixir, so I finally gave it a proper test. The first minutes are all about Jasmine with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Jasmine with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. The composition is well made but not for me.

The drydown leans on Cacao plus Vanille and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Pure Poison Elixir on and off for a few weeks now (2006). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into African Orange Flower with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Jasmine alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

    I have owned Pure Poison Elixir for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Jasmine with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Cacao plus Vanille and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
