My first Dior experience was this one, Sauvage (2015). The opening is built around Calabrian bergamot and Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian bergamot/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Dior knows how to compose, and Sauvage (2015) is proof. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sichuan Pepper with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

A friend passed me a decant of Sauvage (2015) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Calabrian bergamot and Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Sichuan Pepper and Lavender feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

For a 2015 release, Sauvage deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Calabrian bergamot with a hint of Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sichuan Pepper with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I’ve been wearing Sauvage on and off for a few weeks now (2015). The base rests on Ambroxan and Cedar β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A couple of wears in, Sauvage has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Sichuan Pepper and Lavender feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I have owned Sauvage for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Calabrian bergamot and Pepper β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Calabrian bergamot with Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

I picked up Sauvage (2015) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Calabrian bergamot with a hint of Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian bergamot/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

A decant of Sauvage sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Right away I get mostly Calabrian bergamot alongside Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian bergamot/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Picked up a sample of Sauvage after reading the community buzz (2015). Give it a little time and Sichuan Pepper with Lavender comes forward β€” smooth and well done. As it settles, Ambroxan and Cedar come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The heart is the best part for me: Sichuan Pepper and Lavender feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Everyone keeps talking about Sauvage, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sichuan Pepper with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Ambroxan and Cedar come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sichuan Pepper with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here.
