   Everyone keeps talking about Vanilla Diorama, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rum with Cacao, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Rum and Cacao feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I keep reaching for Vanilla Diorama more than I expected to. That first spray gives a lovely Orange/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Orange with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I have owned Vanilla Diorama for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Bourbon Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Orange alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A decant of Vanilla Diorama sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Bourbon Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Bourbon Vanilla and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Vanilla Diorama on and off for a few weeks now (2021). The heart is the best part for me: Rum and Cacao feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Rum with Cacao comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Dior knows how to compose, and Vanilla Diorama (2021) is proof. That first spray gives a lovely Orange/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Bourbon Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Vanilla Diorama. The very first sniff is crisp Orange with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Rum with Cacao comes forward — smooth and well done. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
