   Everyone keeps talking about Red Door, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Sandalwood and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I picked up Red Door (1989) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Carnation and Honey feel carefully balanced. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Red Door. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Carnation with Honey, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of Red Door (1989) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Rose/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

Right away I get mostly Rose alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

    A couple of wears in, Red Door has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Rose/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Rose and Plum — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.
