A decant of Azuree sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Aldehydes and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Vetiver with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

I keep reaching for Azuree more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

My first Estée Lauder experience was this one, Azuree (1969). Give it a little time and Vetiver with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Vetiver and Geranium feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

For a 1969 release, Azuree deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Leather and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
