   I’ve been wearing Beautiful on and off for a few weeks now (1985). That first spray gives a lovely Galbanum/Rose impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Galbanum alongside Rose, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I picked up Beautiful (1985) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Sandalwood and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Galbanum alongside Rose, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Estée Lauder knows how to compose, and Beautiful (1985) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Galbanum with Rose peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Carnation comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   A friend passed me a decant of Beautiful (1985) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Galbanum/Rose impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Carnation, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The first minutes are all about Galbanum with a hint of Rose — it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I wanted to like it more than I did.

Right away I get mostly Galbanum alongside Rose, fresh and very easy to wear. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The first minutes are all about Galbanum with a hint of Rose — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A couple of wears in, Beautiful has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Carnation feel carefully balanced. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
