   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Music For a While. The opening is built around Lavender and Fruity Notes — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Fruity Notes impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Frederic Malle knows how to compose, and Music For a While (2018) is proof. The base rests on Patchouli and Caramel — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Caramel and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up Music For a While (2018) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pineapple with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Caramel and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
