   A friend passed me a decant of Jaguar For Men (1988) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Green Notes alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Green Notes/Basil impression that dries down smoothly. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up Jaguar For Men (1988) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Fir with Carnation comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Oakmoss and Tobacco come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

That first spray gives a lovely Green Notes/Basil impression that dries down smoothly. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The opening is built around Green Notes and Basil — bright and immediately recognizable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
