   Givenchy knows how to compose, and Extravagance d’Amarige (1998) is proof. The base rests on Strawberry and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Marigold with Nettle peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Givenchy experience was this one, Extravagance d’Amarige (1998). The first minutes are all about Marigold with a hint of Nettle — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Marigold with Nettle peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   For a 1998 release, Extravagance d’Amarige deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Orange Blossom with Strawberry comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orange Blossom with Strawberry, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Picked up a sample of Extravagance d’Amarige after reading the community buzz (1998). The opening is built around Marigold and Nettle — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Strawberry and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A decant of Extravagance d’Amarige sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Strawberry plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Marigold with a hint of Nettle — it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

The base rests on Strawberry and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Give it a little time and Orange Blossom with Strawberry comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I wanted to like it more than I did.
