   Everyone keeps talking about Gentlemen Only Intense, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Tonka Bean and Incense come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Birch Leaf and Black Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The drydown leans on Tonka Bean plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The base rests on Tonka Bean and Incense — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A friend passed me a decant of Gentlemen Only Intense (2014) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Birch Leaf with a hint of Black Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Birch Leaf/Black Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A couple of wears in, Gentlemen Only Intense has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Birch Leaf alongside Black Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Tonka Bean plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
