   A friend passed me a decant of Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic (2022) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Orange Blossom and Honey feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Guerlain experience was this one, Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic (2022). The first minutes are all about Mandarin Orange with a hint of Basil — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Vanilla and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   For a 2022 release, Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Orange Blossom with Honey comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Guerlain knows how to compose, and Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic (2022) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Basil peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Orange Blossom with Honey comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I’ve been wearing Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic on and off for a few weeks now (2022). That first spray gives a lovely Mandarin Orange/Basil impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Basil peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A couple of wears in, Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Basil peeking through, very much my kind of start. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
