   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Jardins de Bagatelle. The base rests on Tuberose and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Jasmine — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I picked up Jardins de Bagatelle (1983) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Narcissus feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Tuberose and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I have owned Jardins de Bagatelle for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Tuberose and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Narcissus, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The drydown leans on Tuberose plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Jasmine peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Jasmine, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.
