   A friend passed me a decant of Mon Guerlain (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Tahitian Vanilla and Coumarin come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Tahitian Vanilla and Coumarin — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I keep reaching for Mon Guerlain more than I expected to. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Jasmine Sambac, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Picked up a sample of Mon Guerlain after reading the community buzz (2017). The opening is built around Lavender and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Jasmine Sambac, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I picked up Mon Guerlain (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Give it a little time and Iris with Jasmine Sambac comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.
